Japan | Hiroshima

After an extended weekend in Izu Peninsula, me and João headed to Hiroshima. We got there in about 5 hours using the Shikansen (bullet train).
I’ve grow to be a fan of this kind of transportation.
Hiroshima is most know for the WWII and the Atomic Bombing. That not a good reason for a city to be known but as a consequence peace is a repeated and consistent concept.
The city itself isn’t much big but still is very pretty. You go around by using the tram. It got many nice avenues and long and spacing streets.
As main spots, there is the Peace Park, the A-Bomb Dome, a great Japanese Garden and the shopping galleries. It is surrounded by mountains like most japanese cities and had a great place nearby: the Miyajima island and the surrounded islands and bays!
If you go there, take a bit on Okonomiaky
Here are some photos I’ve taken there. See more at my Flickr (‘pro’ status.. ehe..)
Next stop Miyajima island.
