Music for the Sunday

Google Buzz

Today I when to Opera, to see “Les Contes d’Hoffmann”. It was nice, but the seat was really uncomfortable. Luckily, there were two intervals. It made me lose the Sporting (of Lisbon) game, that I was going next – nevertheless, we won 2-0, so that worked out without me -.

The crowds are very alike eventhought it doesn’t look that way on paper. On the interval you see on both events people commenting on someone’s performance and what they did and didn’t wrong.. or right.
You see that the public elects one or two main elements to follow and to applaud – there are more applause at the Opera than on a Football match, which is very strange -.
The good thing about Opera, is that on the end, your side never losses. It’s always a win, everyone is happy and “players” will come out for about 15 min to receive applause. I’m wondering if losing (or really bad performance) was possible, those would be the most uncomfortable 15 min of all! :)

But they are great professionals and so most of it goes near perfect or at least very acceptable. On the other hand, on football they are professionals but they can miss shots from 5 meters from the goal. Incredible when they all life is to not miss that shot and when most of us wouldn’t miss it 7 in 10 tries!

Maybe that kind of uncertainty is what makes football a crowd game and Opera an elite hobby or passion.

But on this Sunday, there is other music to listen to! I’m really addicted to these 3 songs! From 3 great albuns.

The first is from The Dodos and their album Visiter. The next one is a great comeback from our favorite spaceman, J Spaceman and is new album Songs in A&E – probably regarding his not-so-long staying in A&E on limbo -, and finally, the massive comeback from Portishead and their album Third.
All good albums that have been on my new phones for a lot of time.

Take a listen:

The Dodos – Visiter – Winter

Spiritualized – Songs in A&E – Sitting on Fire

[Still not available on sale]

Portishead – Third – Magic Doors

Enjoy.
